About Dr. Ruth
Carpe Diem, Latin for Seize the Day…..this is the mantra Dr. Ruth has lived by her whole life. Ruth has always tried to follow her heart through a winding road in life. While always wanting to teach, help/serve others, she got there via working in a muffler shop; kitchens of all sizes and culinary genres; construction sites-masonry, roofing, plumbing, and painting; the world of finance, working in service and commercial lending at large banking companies. With each new challenge brought new learning, new skills, and new perspectives. Each new field began in jobs at the bottom, but when it was time to move on Ruth had always emerged into a position of leadership near the top.
As for education, Ruth has spent literally half her life in college, specialized training, certification, and licensure programs. Her K-12 educational experiences took place in rural, urban, and suburban school districts with extended experience working with students and communities at-risk. As a university professor Ruth has taught doctoral students in public, Catholic, and Jesuit colleges teaching a host of diverse courses designed to improve instruction, evaluation, leadership; working to train school district superintendents lead in these difficult times. She has served on numerous dissertation committees at a half-dozen colleges/universities.
In the corporate world, Ruth has helped companies increase efficiency and regulatory compliance. She has helped leadership teams and boards communicate more effectively and strategically. As a true partner, Ruth sits with board members, community members, and company/district staff to help create strategic plans that not only enhance the experiences of those involved, but improve the bottom line.
Ruth is a master at being a jack of all trades. Never worry whether she knows enough about your field of work, she will work side-by-side with you, to listen, learn, and then help you be the best in that field. Her passion is people, learning something new every day is her credo. Positivity, optimism, passion, joy, compassion, balance, these aren’t just words, but rather constructs in life to explore. A huge fan of Life is Good™ wear, it’s really their motto that gets at the heart of things…Do What You Like, Like What You Do. Her goal is to help everyone not “go to a job” but rather find joy in what he/she does in life, to enhance the quality of that life. Further, it is not the job that defines who we are in life, it’s merely a piece of our complexity.
Who Am I? Now THAT’s a question. Who do you want to be? Pick up the phone, drop us an email, and let’s figure that all out, together.
